Mohammed Abdul Hossein

I am 12 years old and I am the son of the family.
My day starts when I get up at 6:00. After I wake
up I go and wash I the nearby pond. Then I have a
morning prayer with my family.

If I go fishing:
I have my breakfast at around 6:30. I have a breakfast
of Patita Bhat and Panta (rice in water prepared the
evening before, with burnt chilli and onions). Me, dad
and granddad all go fishing together on the river. I
think that this is very exciting when the river is
choppy because water sloshes over the edges of the
boat and I think that we will sink but we never do.
At 11:00 we all go home and I go to school.

If I don't go fishing:
I have a late breakfast at 8:00. At 8:30 I normally
fetch water and collect some grass for the buffalo
from the garden. After at about 11:00 I go to School.
In the school there is a room where we have our lessons
and another were we have assembly. School is really
fun because we get to learn to read and to write and
sometimes to write on paper! That's OK but what's better
is when I get to go and visit and play with my friends
at 2:00. When I'm with them we play Kabadi. Kabadi is
a game were you have to drag people across a line and
see how far you can get them. I like playing with my
friends. Plus sometimes I help my parents in the
fields. At 8:00 I have dinner and I have an evening
prayer. For dinner we have rice and Dal (lentils,
garlic, chilli peppers, turmeric, herbs and spices).
