Zohra Begum

I wake up around 5:00 am and have a wash, I pray with my family
and after, do my work. I sweep the ground, feed the chickens
and other animals and eventually wash the utensils in the
pond. At around 6:30 I serve breakfast usually patita bhat
and my husband have pana rice, which is rice prepared the night
before. Plus we have burnt chilli with onions. After I fetch the
water. At around 8:00 I have breakfast with the children,
monsur Ali and often other relatives came too. At 8:30 I collect
the green Golpata (reeds) from the pond. Then I go back and
prepare lunch, which is small fish with rice and vegetables.
At 9:00 on a Sunday I go to the shomiti meeting. After I have
had lunch and prayed, I do some tasks around the house:

After, at around 3:00 I go to reflex classes, which I attend 6 times a week. I return at 5:00 to sweep up and prepare the food. After that I visit the neighbours with some friends for some tea and salted puffed rice. At 6:30 I prepare the evening meal, rice and Dal (lentils, garlic, chilli peppers, turmeric, herbs and spices) At 8:00 we eat the evening meal and pray, after I study my books, eventually, going to bed at about 10:00.

Sometimes we go to the Bazzar and take baskets
of fruit, rice and potatoes to sell. We buy spices,
chillies, garlic, maize and corn. I love paper, when I
get it I like to write and draw but it is very
expensive to buy and we only get it once a fortnight.
As a women that does all the cooking and mending I buy:
I go to the river each week and collect a few prawns
to go with the meal, if I have enough money to buy them.
Plus each evening the children go to the video club which
is 5 takka, so we can't always afford it but when they
do go they are very happy !
