The mkdisk utility is designed to generate a disk container file, or disk image, for the CHARON family of emulators.

Hardware and Software Requirements:

An Intel compatible PC running Red Hat Linux release 6.0 with enough free disk space for the generated disk image file.

mkdisk has three forms of command line:

mkdisk -l
prints a list of all supported disk models

mkdisk -t <model_name> <name_of_file>
creates an image of disk of type <model_name> in file <name_of_file>

mkdisk -s <number of blocks> [-b <block size>] <name of file>
creates  an image of disk of <numbers of blocks> blocks in a file <file name>

The default block size is 512 bytes. It can be changed with "-b" option.
